Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s finance department have been accredited by the world's largest professional body of management accountants.
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) awarded our finance department its highest level of accreditation, that of Premier Partner, due to its excellence in supporting lifelong professional development making us an Employer of Choice for both CIMA students and members. This follows on from the success of also achieving accreditation as an Approved Employer for Professional Development by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Our Trust promotes a variety of study packages to encourage staff towards completion of both Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) and all Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies’ (CCAB) qualifications. We believe that an effective training strategy is vital in providing employees with the tools and skills they require to inform open and transparent decision making.
Now we're is aiming for a potential hat-trick of accreditations with their recent application to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
Claire Wright, Executive Director of Finance for Derbyshire Healthcare, said: “I am really proud of the team; their commitment and enthusiasm is boundless and this accolade is richly deserved. They always strive for excellence in delivering a highly professional service to the whole organisation and putting the people they serve at the heart of decision making.
“Over the last year we have implemented innovative changes in our structure and ways of working that have created many opportunities for members of the team to undertake both personal and professional development while performing their roles. These changes were co-produced by the whole team and have been a resounding success.”
