Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services' (CAMHS) Expert by Experience, Leanne Walker, has been selected by NHS England to be the curator of the national @NHS Twitter account.
As an @NHS curator, Leanne will have control of the account from 13 to 17 February and will be able to engage in conversations with anyone on Twitter about health-related issues.
While Leanne won’t be representing Derbyshire Healthcare (or NHS England), she will report first hand about her experiences of the Trust's child and adolescent mental health services and share information about the importance of encouraging service receiver participation in the development of healthcare services for the future.
As well as her work with the Trust – which has included a speech at our 2015 Annual Members Meeting – Leanne is a Young Advisor at The Royal College of Psychiatrists, and does sessional work for GIFT (Great Involvement Future Thinking), for Common Room Consultancy and also for Warwick University as part of the international Milestone project about improving the transition between CAMHS and AMHS (Adult Mental Health Services).
Derbyshire Healthcare's Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services were rated as 'outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection of the Trust.
