Mickleover man, Geoff Lewins has recently been appointed as a Non-Executive Director at our Trust.

A qualified accountant by background, Geoff will have a particular responsibility to chair our Audit and Risk Committee. He will join colleagues on the Board of Directors in ensuring the organisation provides effective and high quality healthcare services to the local community, is governed properly and that patient interests are fully represented.

Geoff, who commences in post on 1 December 2017, has over 30 years’ experience in finance, IT and governance, having recently worked as Director of Financial Strategy for Rolls Royce. He is also a Trustee of The Arkwright Society, an educational charity devoted to the rescue of industrial heritage buildings in Derbyshire.

Geoff has been appointed for a three year term of office and replaces Matlock resident, Barry Mellor, who leaves the Trust on 31 December 2017. Geoff’s appointment was recently confirmed by the Trust’s Council of Governors.

"Putting something back into the community"

Geoff was delighted to be appointed to the Derbyshire Healthcare Board, saying:
“I am looking forward to using the skills and experience that I have built up during my professional life to put something back into the community.”

Welcoming the appointment, Derbyshire Healthcare’s Chair, Caroline Maley said:

“I am delighted to welcome Geoff into the Trust as a Non-Executive Director. He brings a wide range of skills and experience which will complement those of existing Board members and help us continue developing safe, high quality and sustainable services.

“On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Barry Mellor for his contribution to the Trust over the last year.”
