NHS Change Day - 13th March 2013

Inspired and led by a group of young and emerging clinical and managerial leaders in the NHS, NHS Change Day will be the single largest improvement event in the NHS to date:

“If we are the ones who are doing the work, then we are the people who can change the way we do it - for the better.”

Committed to showing that large scale improvement can be achieved across and beyond the NHS, even in these currently challenging and demanding times, this grassroots movement is mobilising colleagues throughout the service to pledge to make a change, to make a difference, to make things better, on NHS Change Day.

Pledges can be anything from the smallest act to the largest commitment. Perhaps a porter pledging that on NHS Change Day that they will meet every patient with a smile and ask how they are, or GP surgery adding a Suggestions Box to their waiting room to find out how things could work better for their patients, or a commissioner launching a new initiative to improve patient care across a whole pathway or service.

These dynamic young and emerging leaders have already secured NHS Change Day pledges from senior leaders including Sir David Nicholson, Jane Cummings and Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, with more and more organisations within and outside the NHS wanting to be part of this exciting event by the day.

With a live link-up on the day from the Healthcare Innovation Expo to participant organisations across the service, we are looking forward to a national celebration and showcasing of pledges and pledging organisations from around the country.
