We've teamed up with the award-winning newspaper First News to encourage young people to talk about mental health for Time To Talk Day

We've worked with Leanne, a local young person from Derbyshire, and the First News team to explain why it's important to 'take five minutes on the 5th' to have a conversation about mental health.

Time To Talk Day is the brainchild of the organisations behind Time To Change. The aim of the day is to break the silence around mental health problems, which affect one in four people in any one year.

In the article, Leanne gives her personal experience and says: "The more we talk, the more we share, the more 'normal’ mental health will become. It’s like a Mexican wave: it cannot be done on its own, but it takes one person to start it."

Our work with First News

This is the fifth feature we have produced in collaboration with First News.

The first feature coincided with 2014 Mental Health Awareness Week and was about anxiety.

The second feature in September this year was about finding your feet at a new school.

The third feature promoted World Mental Health Day in October.

The fourth feature discussed the challenges of coping with Christmas.
