Foundation Trust status

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (DHCFT) logo

The Trust was authorised as a Foundation Trust by Monitor, (the regulatory body which oversees NHS Foundation Trusts) on Tuesday 1 February 2011, the full report can be found on the Monitor website.

Foundation Trust status gives us more freedom to shape services to meet the needs of people in Derbyshire. You can find out more about Monitor, and what foundation trust status means by visiting their website www.monitor-nhsft.gov.uk.

From 1st April all providers of NHS funded services are required to hold and comply with the Monitor provider Licence. Our Foundation Trust Constitution and Foundation Trust Constitution Licence can be found here which replaces the terms of authorisation.

As a Foundation Trust we are required to build a membership which is as representative of the community we serve as possible. If you would like to become a member of our Trust, and reap the benefits of NHS discounts and a free magazine, Connections.

The Trust has a Council of Governors. To find out more or become a member of our Trust, please visit the Members section or email: membership@derbyshcft.nhs.uk
