Neighbourhood involvement forums

We hold involvement forums for service users and carers being supported by our neighbourhood mental health teams. These meetings allow experts by experience to come together as equal partners with experts by profession – our neighbourhood staff. 

The aim is to shape the culture and approach of local neighbourhood services, in a way that best supports opportunities for recovery.

Where are the forums held?

Currently there are involvement forums held in four neighbourhoods: the High Peak and Dales, Killamarsh and North Chesterfield, Bolsover and Clay Cross and Chesterfield Central. 

How often are the forums held?

The forums currently take place monthly with a rolling programme across the neighbourhoods. This means that each neighbourhood has a forum meeting once every four or five months.

What happens at a typical forum meeting?

A forum meeting typically lasts two hours. Time is given at each meeting to:

  • Listen to, and address, service user/carer issues
  • Discuss issues affecting the Trust in relation to neighbourhood services
  • Provide a forum for the co-production (joint development) of specific projects
  • Focus on the recovery education offer within each neighbourhood
  • Provide an opportunity for people to explore and get access to a range of involvement opportunities.
