Library and Knowledge Service
Library and Knowledge Service Mission Statement:
To provide, develop and promote consistently high standards of library and knowledge provision to support the following: patient care, evidence based practice, knowledge management, service development, management, lifelong learning, education and research for all Trust staff and placement students and to encourage use of the evidence base in all aspects of Trust activity.
- Books and print journals
- Electronic resources including e-books, e-journals, databases and alerting services
- Inter library requests – for those articles and books we do not have in the library
- IT suite
- Literature searching
- Current awareness – inlcuding electronic contents pages, database alerts, a mental health news bulletin or a digest of best evidence in mental health
- Training and help accessing the resources

NICE Evidence Search
NICE Evidence Search provides access to authoritative health and social care evidence and best practice from hundreds of trustworthy and accredited sources.
It enables you to find high quality evidence directly to patient or client care, including guidelines, care pathways, systematic reviews and medicines information.
Evidence Search is fully integrated within the NICE website, enabling easy links between NICE Pathways and Guidance and key resources such as the British National Formulary (BNF), Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) and Journals and databases.
National Elf Service
A service for Health Professionals, to help them keep up to date with the latest evidence.
Their mantra is: No jargon, no misinformation, no spin, just what you need!
When you follow the elves, you can be sure that you will receive interesting, evidence-based information that is relevant to your specialty.
The free feeds are available in all of the main formats (Email, RSS, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) so you can keep up to date however you wish.
Specialist Elves include: The Mental Elf; The Learning Disabilities Elf and The Child Elf

Where can you find us?
Our main base is in the Ashbourne Centre at the Kingsway site. We have a small collection at the Hartington Unit in Chesterfield and we deliver a remote service using electronic resources and the postal system for all our staff.
